We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Operations Assistant Manager to lead and oversee our accounting operations. In this managerial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of all accounting functions. You will also play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to improve our accounting processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the accounting team, including delegating tasks, providing coaching and mentoring, and ensuring performance meets expectations.
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Manage accounting software systems and ensure their proper utilization.
- Conduct internal controls reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
- Work closely with other departments, such as sales, operations, and management, to provide financial information and analysis.
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects related to accounting, ensuring timely completion within budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role.
- Proven experience in managing and supervising an accounting team.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Experience with accounting software systems.
- Project management experience in an accounting context.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Having exposure in Sharia Insurance/Financial Industries is a plus
