Job Overview:
The Associate Medical Specialist performs routine assignments in an entry-level role to support the Medical (HSES) discipline at McDermott. The role requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the Medical (HSES) discipline.
Responsibilities
Key Task and Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with all company and project-specific medical terms, requirements, and project deliverables
- Identify applicable regulatory requirements specific to the scope of work, including monitoring compliance
- Ensure medical plans, procedures, and instructions are developed and implemented
- Identify and assign appropriate medical resources and development
- Prepare and maintain medical-related Risk Register and Corrective Action Tracking
- Complete Medical Prequalification of project subcontractors and vendors as applicable
- Prepare project medical audit plans and conduct audits as applicable
- Conduct reviews and audits of vessels, facilities, or projects as applicable
- Prepare and maintain Project Medical Activity Plans
- Prepare Medical performance reports and submission of same to Medical Functional Lead
- Initiate Medical training needs analysis and coordination of implementation
- Develop and oversee medical plans to meet project Objectives, Targets, and Goals aligned to the Area
- Participate as SME in medical Incident Investigations and reporting
- Provide medical input into a look ahead plans and reports based on the project schedule
- Provide medical input to MOCs and Lessons Learned
- Review/Approve subcontractors and vendors for medical equipment and services
- Conduct regular site or facility medical reviews
- Attend and provide input to forums such as kick-off meetings, constructability reviews, readiness reviews, etc.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree related to the medical field
- 4+ years of experience as a medical practitioner
- Functional, business, and industry knowledge
- Ability to work as a team member and act as a team leader
- Have wide experience with medical activities, both onshore and offshore operations
- Maintain key competencies associated with the medical function
- Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of local health authority guidelines
