Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services essential for our company's operations. This role requires a keen understanding of supply chain management, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, reliability, and selection.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, goods, and services.
  • Monitor and track supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier issues and concerns in a timely manner.
Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality, reduce costs, and optimize delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
Forecast upcoming demand and inventory needs based on sales trends and production schedules.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and reduce holding costs.
Analyze purchasing trends, costs, and supplier performance.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to management, highlighting opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Utilize ERP systems or purchasing software to maintain accurate records and track purchasing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
Maintain proper documentation of purchasing activities, contracts, and agreements.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist, Purchasing Agent, or in a similar role.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset to identify opportunities for process improvement.
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as supply chain principles.
