Job Overview
- To do re-search and work with customer and supplier on the specific requirement to meet Customer requirement and expectation
- Responsible for the innovation and validation of new cable products and processes while complying with the product realization requirements
- To support Customer Inquiry/New project implementation, request for quotation (RFQ) and cost reduction program
- Job Responsibilities
- Must have knowledge n experience in rubber compounding or PVC.
- Liaise with Product Engineer to establish and maintain cable specification of product
- and continue to improve for lower cost solution and Value Engineering activities
- Plan and monitoring activities pertaining to develop new cable product, customer samples or certification body as required.
- Ensure material readiness to support cable sample to avoid delayed sample production.
- Preparing documentation for engineering change request from customer or changes in relevant cable standards
- and ensure all related departments are updated with latest revision.
- Documentation of all sample request, material test, analysis results and compliance.
- Liaise with Product Engineer to preparing BOM, Material encoding, Routing, Cable drawing and document related to support Mass Pro.
- Relevant experience in development of XLPE c/w, VW-1 cable to meet n comply to UL n VDE safety standards.
- Cable development experience such as Silicon rubber cable, EPDM rubber cable, FEP Teflon cable and CPE cable are required.
- To provide costing for the cable / material development.
Key Qualifications and desirable experience
- University Degree or Diploma in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
- Excellent English in written and oral for communication with foreign people and intercultural competence
- Familiar with electrical, cable requirement (low voltage/high voltage/data cable/power cable), wire harness, etc.
- Familiar with Microsoft office, AUTO CAD & Microsoft Project is advantage, Internet literate: Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
- Work experience in cable products industry would be preferred, but not necessary
- Fast learning mind set and attitude.
- Good ability for team work, coordination and cooperation
- Resilient, flexible, creative, good learning aptitude.
