Job Description

Job Title: Partnership Channel Development Head - Indonesia

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia

Full Time/Hybrid

Position Summary:

The Partnership Channel Development Head will lead Wadhwani Foundation's efforts to develop and manage strategic partnerships across three priority channels: Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Industry, and Academia. Reporting directly to the Country Director, this role requires a dynamic leader who can secure high-impact partnerships to achieve the foundation's goal of empowering vulnerable individuals in emerging economies to secure family wage jobs capable of supporting a family of four. The candidate will be responsible for leading channel development to drive program success, ensuring partners are given a platform to participate, play a crucial role and succeed in achieving employment outcomes for beneficiaries.

This role operates within Wadhwani Foundation's unique, startup-like environment, which demands innovation, high ownership, initiative, and a focus on time efficiency. The Foundation emphasizes an open culture where every team member is empowered and expected to influence outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Channel Development:
  • Lead and manage partnership efforts across the three key channels: TVET, Industry and Academia.
  • Develop strategies and implement action plans to engage TVET institutions that can implement Wadhwani's skilling programs and produce graduates ready for employment with the Country Director and HQ
  • Drive industry partnerships to ensure demand-side engagement where companies not only hire program graduates but also integrate the Wadhwani Skilling Network up skilling and re skilling programs, Job Rise, within their organizations, expanding the network to vendors and partners.
  • Establish collaborations with academic institutions to align their curricula with industry needs, ensuring students are equipped with employable skills by utilizing the Wadhwani Skilling Network Job Ready curriculum, technology platform and ecosystem to achieve higher success rates of employment and faster waiting times of getting employed.
  • Partnership Management and Channel Ownership:
  • Own the full partner development lifecycle from identification, negotiation, onboarding, to ongoing management of relationships.
  • Oversee the entire channel ecosystem, ensuring that all partnerships are productive, impactful, and in alignment with the Foundation's goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic partnerships, ensuring that all partners receive the support needed to implement and scale programs.
  • Public Representation and Advocacy:
  • Represent Wadhwani Foundation at public events, conferences, and meetings, advocating for the Foundation's mission and building its visibility across the TVET, industry, and academic sectors.
  • Act as an evangelist for the Foundation's programs, ensuring stakeholders understand the impact of skilling programs on employability and economic growth.
  • Marketing and Communication:
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a comprehensive communication strategy that supports channel development efforts and raises awareness of Wadhwani's programs.
  • Design and implement marketing campaigns and initiatives to increase partner engagement and display the Foundation's impact.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Oversee the Channel Development team, including the Channel Development Head Managers, and Associates, ensuring they are aligned with strategic priorities and operating at the highest level of performance.
  • Foster a culture of high ownership, initiative, and empathy within the team, ensuring that all actions are beneficiary-centric.
  • KPI Management and Reporting:
  • Own the delivery of KPIs related to channel development, ensuring that all partnerships deliver on key objectives including job placements and scaling of programs.
  • Regularly report progress to the Country Director and provide insights on channel performance, partnership success, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination:
  • Collaborate with internal global teams, including Channel Development, Program Operations, Product, and Marketing, to ensure a cohesive approach to partnership management.
  • Facilitate effective communication between partners and internal teams to ensure that programs are effectively launched, monitored, and reported.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
  • Continuously innovate the channel development process to optimize efficiency, partner engagement, and program outcomes.
  • Lead efforts to improve service delivery to partners and beneficiaries, ensuring programs are continuously evolving to meet changing needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in partnership/channel development, business development, or similar roles, preferably in Education Technology, NGO, education, or training sectors.
  • Strong understanding of TVET, industry partnerships, and academia, with a demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships across these sectors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to secure and manage high-impact and qualified partnerships.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, with the ability to innovate, take ownership, and drive outcomes.
  • Fluent in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Data-driven approach with experience in managing KPIs, reporting, and improving processes based on insights.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with a record of accomplishment in building high-performing teams.
