Chief Accountant

Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

• Coordinate and prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis reports.

General Ledger Management:

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial data.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Audit Coordination:

• Coordinate and facilitate external audits.

Implement and monitor corrective actions as recommended by auditors.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

Provide training and support to improve the skills and efficiency of the team.

• Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with executive management to support business planning and decision-making.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability and cost management.

Systems Management:

• Oversee and manage accounting systems and software.

Ensure the effective and efficient use of technology within the accounting function.

Qualification

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly desirable.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role in nightclub/beach club/hotel.

Experience in financial management and reporting, preferably in a mid to large-sized organization.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS), and tax regulations.

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

High level of integrity and attention to detail.
