Job Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Manage and responsible for the ongoing support for numerous Applications and tools across Business Users.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible to analyze a given problem, diagnose and find the root cause, then either solve it or pass the problem to relevant team it does not lie within area of responsibility.
- Responding to production emergencies this incorporates the area of: Application Down or System Error.
- Assisting Users and answering questions this requires understanding on existing Business Process / Procedures then formulize the resolution.
- Responding to environment changes, such as: implementation of new System. Action is required from Application Support team to ensure the Applications remain stable and accurate.
- Providing application configuration and maintenance
- Delivering support to existing Business Users and investigating and resolving Application errors, data discrepancies, inaccurate calculation / value and queries.
- Working with the Business System Support Analyst in identifying and proposing:
- Application system changes
- Better uses of applications
- Application enhancements and developments
- Liaising with appropriate vendors (both ROIT and local vendors), Business Users and IT Project Delivery team in the provision of Application changes or System deployment.
- Monitor progress of requests for support and ensure Users and other interested parties are kept informed.
- Responsible to monitor application / systems by providing regular reports on the current status of the application, such as: Job/DTS monitoring, batch-run process, etc.
Qualifications
Formal Education :
Bachelor degree in Information System or Computer Science
Working Experience
- Experience of tracking and solving application support issue from Users, prioritizing requests, implementing and communicating timely solutions.
- At least three years related experience as Application Support
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of Insurance industry will be advantageous, specifically knowledge in Life Insurance.
- Good exposure in SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, SSRS , SSIS , Foxpro, AS400, Visual Basic & Java programming language and SDLC / Application Development methodologies.
