Job Title: Thermal Coal Procurement/Sourcing/Trading Manager

Location: Indonesia

Imperium Commodity Search is exclusively retained by a leading global trading & shipping firm to continue their expansion within the coal markets. The company operates across 3 main pillars: Maritime, with over 500 vessels owned or under management spanning nearly 3 decades of experience across 20+ offices. Resources, leaders in the Metallurgical & Carbons markets across Iron Ore, Met Coal, Thermal etc transporting millions of MT each year. Supported by Trading, Risk management & Trade finance facilities and the company's Asset Management divisions with a diverse portfolio.

With an established presence across the major coal geographies spanning across China, Singapore, India and Indonesia we are seeking an experienced thermal coal sourcing/procurement executive/manager to complement their expanding coal sourcing requirements in the region. With a growing sales division serving an every growing number of territories, the firm is seeking further diversification and evaluation of their sourcing network. You will be directly engaged in sourcing Indonesian coal from a variety of suppliers, working with management and trading teams on origination requirements and quantities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work to develop, maintain and grow sourcing/procurement relationships with thermal coal mines and producers in the Indonesian region
• Travel to meet with suppliers and foster close and long term relationships, driving margins and cost savings
• Provide up to date pricing, research and intelligence to the central team to inform decisions on the coal trading desk
• Assist in operations, coal loading and shipping to ensure smooth supply chain for the thermal coal trading book
• Keep up to date on coal news and industry events to inform trading/sourcing decision making
• Visit mine sites, stockpiles, jetties etc. and attend vessel loadings, if required
• Handle negotiations and contract execution for physical thermal coal trade

Requirements:

• 7+ years experience in coal sourcing/procurement or trading
• Excellent knowledge of thermal coal
• Good network of coal mines/suppliers in the Indonesian region
• Solid understanding of contract terms, LC terms and related commercial documents
• English is required, Bahasa is beneficial but not required
• Ability and desire to travel to meet with and build relationships with suppliers
• Good mathematical ability and understanding of operations, shipping and contract terms
