Job Description
The Consultant (Biodiversity) main responsibility will be to deliver the biodiversity component of ESIA, Environmental & Social Due Diligence, and Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan You will need to be familiar with Indonesian and International Regulation (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principle) and other related international guidelines. Experience in environmental assessment in infrastructure projects, renewable energy and solid waste management projects is an advantage. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, collaborative attitude, able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and proficient in oral and written communication skills in English.
Job Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Enterprise team, design and implement terrestrial, aquatic and marine biodiversity baseline surveys to meet regulatory requirements and international best practices as defined by local regulations, and international frameworks like the International Finance Corporations (IFC) Performance Standards (PS).
Analyse and interpret baseline data in the context of conducting various studies such as scoping studies, ESIA, critical habitat assessments and development of implementing documents such as offset management strategy and biodiversity action plan.
Provide general support in undertaking activities such as environmental and social impact assessments such as ESIA, AMDAL, EMMP, Site-specific impact assessment, environmental and social due diligence, sustainability, report writing and monitoring field works for Indonesia and international projects.
Provide technical and regulatory support for the team.
Lead in report preparation including writing and review of reports in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in biology, forestry, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus.
>5 years relevant experience in the field including in consultancies.
High familiarity with national and international standards including Equator Principle and IFC Performance Standards.
Strong analytical, planning and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proactive and results-driven mindset, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality services and exceeding customer expectations.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia
