Preformed Line Products Co. (PLP) is a NASDAQ publicly traded (ticker: PLPC) global manufacturer of industrial products for the Electric Power Utility Market as well as Telecommunications Market. It has a US headquartered parent.
Preformed Line Products Indonesia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Preformed Line Products Co., It is one of the major manufacturing facilities within PLP group. It has the market coverage of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Brunei.
Summary of Functions
The Function plays the role of economic control of the company, subsidizing the Board and other functions of the organization in decision-making and compliance with internal or corporate rules and legal rules and legal requirements imposed by the Sarbanes-Oxley law. It plays this role through the actual financial results and forecast management system (Budget) and other projections of future results, based on information from tax and management accounting. In addition to perfectly mastering the concepts and methodologies involved, it contributes to the formation of management levels in these aspects.
The Function also has under its responsibility the financial management, taking care of the financial health of the company, controlling credits to customers, revenues and payments, according to the Policies defined by PLP-USA (Corporate) and the Managing Director.
The function is responsible for complying with all applicable local country tax legislation.
The function also performs the management of the company's computer hardware and software infrastructure, with special attention to ERP system.
Key Functions
- Maintain ownership of financial close and related results and ensure that all accounting activities are conducted in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage and/or carry out activities that allow to have a budget of the company and make analytical differences between the planned and the realized.
- Ensure the correct data information needed to measure the performance of the company.
- Prepare and report the monthly financial package to the corporate.
- Supervise all internal and external audit activities and manage the internal control process.
- Exercise the financial direction of the company, according to the established Policies, taking care to keep it profitable and healthy.
- Set up, manage and oversee the policies, controls and governance around the company's computer hardware & network, computer software and ERP system, including ERP system upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to local financial laws & tax regulations and the corporate finance policy.
- Establish policy and lead on cash flow management
- Oversee and support the accounting and financial operation within the two sister companies in Vietnam and India.
- Gauge the company risk's exposure and high impact subjects. Report and / or suggest Managing Director for decision of counter measurement.
- Assist Managing Director in the projects of merger, acquisition and footprint expansion in the region.
- Enforce for the compliance of company's authorization matrix and code of conduct.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate with all other Leaders to prepare the company annual budget and other financial projections.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Establish and maintain the Power BI system that can provide the real time performance report to the director team members.
- Prepare the financial management report, conduct performance analysis and financial projection and report to Senior Leadership Team.
- Support both the Regional Controller APAC and Corporate Controller to ensure compliance with PLP global accounting policies and in achieving global finance team goals and objectives.
- Report financial and non-financial results to headquarters in the USA. Ensure the financial month end closing will be met timely.
- Monitor the national and international economy environment and anticipate possible problems that may generate financial and economic instability.
- Perform works defined by the Headquarters, under the command of the Managing Director and ensuring the maintenance of reliable and friendly relationships.
- Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems
- Actively monitor and analyze the cash flow projection of foreign currency and take properly action to protect the risk on the Forex.
- Responsible for keeping the company's cash healthy. Lead on the cash collection activities, determine proper credit term to customer & payment term to supplier.
- Maintain contacts with banks, develop relationship, negotiate fees, manage bank services values, establish and manage bank facilities, review correction of Bond & LC.
- Lead on inventory efficiency management. Establish and oversee the business management report which will be the tool to monitor real time inventory value and its movement.
- Work with engineering team and procurement to ensure that all the standard costing of each part in the Epicor system will always be up to date.
- Assist the sales team to review the sales contract terms and conditions.
- Assist the procurement team to review the purchasing contract term and conditions.
- Supervise the company's billing, being responsible for the correct issuance of Invoices and the respective calculation of tax.
- Provide legal support and guidance to the tax area by ensuring compliance with tax legislation on taxes.
- Support external and internal audits, Sarbanes Oxley law, both in the tax and administrative areas.
- Oversee all audit and internal business control process
- Ensure compliance to financial laws and local tax regulation
- Identify, evaluate, manage, and reduce the impact of potential risks.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Additional controller duties as necessary
- Set up and oversee the company's computer hardware, network and software
- Supervise the finance team in PLP Indonesia.
- Remotely manage the finance and account transaction of PLP Malaysia and Philippines.
- Assist the Managing Director in financial analysis and legal set up for the projects of merger, acquisition or footprint expansion in the region.
- Monitor and ensure that all spending activities from each employee shall be approved according to company authorization matrix and corporate financial policy.
- Act as the compliance manager of Code of Conduct.
