FINANCE ASSISTANT GOALS
The primary goal of the Finance Assistant at TraceWorthy Consulting is to deliver critical financial insights and support that facilitate informed decision-making for both the company and its diverse client base. This role is essential in managing and presenting accurate financial data, which aids in the strategic allocation of resources within TraceWorthy Consulting and across its client projects. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Collect, interpret, and review financial data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness for both TraceWorthy Consulting and its clients.
- Prepare detailed financial reports that outline the financial status of TraceWorthy Consulting and provide customized financial statements for clients as required.
2. Budget Management and Forecasting:
- Assist in the planning, reviewing, and monitoring of budgets for TraceWorthy Consulting.
- Work collaboratively with client teams to develop and manage budgets that align with their financial goals and project requirements.
3. Client Financial Advisory:
- Provide strategic financial advice to clients, helping them understand their financial reports and forecasts to make informed business decisions.
- Act as a financial liaison between TraceWorthy Consulting and its clients, ensuring transparency and effective communication of financial matters.
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all financial practices comply with statutory and regulatory requirements for both TraceWorthy Consulting and its clients.
- Advise on and implement strategies to minimize financial risk, including recommendations on financial controls and processes.
5. Operational Support:
- Support day-to-day financial operations within TraceWorthy Consulting, including processing transactions and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Extend these services to client accounts, ensuring that all financial operations are conducted smoothly and align with client agreements.
6. Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to support financial operations and business development.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both TraceWorthy Consulting's management and its clients, providing timely and accurate financial information and support.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Actively participate in the development and refinement of financial processes and systems within TraceWorthy Consulting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and financial management techniques with clients to support their operational improvement initiatives.
DUTIES
The duties of the Finance Assistant encompass a range of responsibilities focused on the management and operational support of the company's financial activities, as well as its clients.
Daily Tasks:
- Monitoring cash flow to ensure healthy liquidity.
- Maintaining petty cash for small, everyday transactions.
- Supporting the Finance Manager with daily financial transactions.
- Processing receipts for company expenses.
- Generating invoices for customers and clients.
- Monitoring and processing incoming payments.
- Assisting other departments with financial matters as needed.
Weekly Tasks:
- Processing accounts payable and chasing up accounts receivable.
- Compiling weekly financial reports for the Finance Manager.
- Coordinating with department heads to discuss and resolve finance-related issues.
Monthly Tasks:
- Handling employee payroll and processing reimbursements.
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and lines of credit using the company's preferred accounting software.
- Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting, and reforecasting processes.
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory financial and tax reporting requirements.
Quarterly Tasks:
- Analyzing and reporting on financial targets.
- Reviewing business processes and suggesting improvements.
- Keeping track of market trends to advise on potential financial impacts.
- Identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
Annual Tasks:
- Producing statutory and internal annual financial reports.
- Liaising with accounting teams for annual tax reporting.
- Reviewing statutory requirements related to employee insurances, income tax, etc.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
The Finance Assistant may be required to undertake additional tasks as agreed upon with the company's management and clients.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
Experience:
- Proven experience in financial management within an accounting firm or similar environment.
- Experience in client relationship management and advisory roles.
