Job Overview
As the GIS Manager at Chronicle, you will be at the forefront of daily operations and strategic planning for cemetery mapping projects. Your role is essential in meeting high customer expectations and streamlining processes for maximum efficiency. Through your leadership, you will enhance team productivity and project outcomes by leveraging cutting-edge GIS software and AI technologies.
Responsibilities Include And Are Not Limited To
- Planning, organising, directing, and overseeing day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations and continuously improve the process for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strategically producing and presenting clear status reports on cemetery mapping projects to the CEO and stakeholders.
- Continuously optimise productivity and performance targets by analysing project data for insights on team effectiveness and system enhancements (like completion rates, team performance, and areas for improvement).
- Working with our AI team to implement AI to enhance and streamline processes in the GIS team.
- Generate budget and expenditure reports for each project, providing visibility to management.
- Allocate resources effectively to produce optimal results.
- Align strategic initiatives with OKRs and KPIs, setting clear targets (such as plot mapping accuracy and data processing speed). Employ a focused approach to achieve these goals through strategic planning and technology.
- Demonstrate leadership ensuring operational excellence by promptly addressing challenges. Promote a team culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration, including support, sales, and marketing teams to enhance project outcomes and company initiatives.
- Encourage team growth through coaching & development for team members personal growth, team skill enhancement, and adherence to company core values.
- Deep understanding of GIS workflows to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Geography or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a GIS Managerial or Project Management or similar role.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to nurture team growth and uphold company values.
- Fluency in English with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and in a structured manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS and ArcGIS and experience in managing complex projects are required.
- Experience with AI technologies and adaptive mindset towards new technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop systems for tracking productivity, standards, and performance targets.
