Main Responsibilities
SHE Go To Market (GTM) SHE Manager has overall responsibility for managing the risks associated with our GTM clients. The client scope includes all CD/Sales/Merchandising, R&D, Workplace Services, remote and office workers, Customer Operations and Customer Logistics in the geography. As such, the GTM Manager will also double hat as the Business Partner for the Customer Operations, Logistics and WPS leaders. The GTM Manager may also double hat as SHE Country Manager with expectations to Business Partner with the Country Leader and has the responsibility to oversee legal SHE compliance in the country.
The risks include primarily road safety, personal safety, on-site nurseries and office safety, emergency planning, health and wellbeing, ergonomics & environmental improvement activities to achieve excellence at all sites in the geography. These sites include office buildings, virtual offices, R&D centers, distribution centers, field sales and merchandizers. S/he is responsible for all Unilever employees, contractors and third-party suppliers.
- Participates in the SHE Regional Leadership Team to drive SHE culture and SHE performance in unity across the region.
- Sets a SHE Implementation Plan to deliver against the SHE Strategies
- Sets goals and plans to meet geographic, business and SHE commitments
- Manages the SHE teams responsible to deliver results
- Maintains a strong network to manage risk of upcoming changes and builds plans into existing priorities particularly in new capital projects, new business acquisitions and divestitures
- Local Governance to drive strong SHE culture
- Leads the culture change process for SHE in the geography.
- Designs and operates a regional governance process in alignment with global requirements to track performance against all SHE targets. Works across the matrix organization to ensure progress meets company expectations.
- Leads the local auditing program ensuring simplification to the client
- Ensures governance tools like PAR, SPR, UMA, SHEnet, MOC, Power BI and others represent needs locally. Maintains local governance tools as necessary.
- Oversees the legal SHE compliance of all sites to ensure they meet all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards. Works with Legal and Regulatory Affairs to implement new legal requirements.
- Manages change to balance risk by implementing appropriate controls
- Maintains local documented standards, policies, and practices to ensure SHE compliance with regulatory and Unilever expectations.
- Supports global reporting with data and verbiage for internal and external company reports for SHE technologies ensuring accuracy and brand protection. Develops local reporting with trend analysis from incidents, near misses and safe behaviour observations
- Translates global standards into local language and maintains SharePoint for policies and practices.
- Capability Building programs
- Ensures SHE employees participate in the global community of practice of SHE professionals to ensure sharing of best practice and effective communication
- Oversees professional SHE skills within SHE and across client base by determining training needs and assisting in delivery of training programs
- Maintains local expertise in specific SHE GTM technologies like mechanized material handling equipment safety (MMHE), safe driving, office safety, safe travel, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, emergency planning and response, security, process safety, water, air and waste compliance requirements and others.
- Participates in Emergency Planning and Response
- Advises line management in all accident/incident investigations
- Assists the Incident Management Teams in leading and developing the internal incident management committees; support site leaders in the country/business in serious incident investigation and analysis
- Leads critical root cause investigations for complex incidents Operates within the boundaries of SHE business expectations in cost, capital, and headcount.
Candidate Criteria
Experience & Qualification
- Experience in Business Operations
- Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management
- University degree in Science or Engineering. Technology experience in engineering, modelling, data analysis, manufacturing chemistries, environmental operations, environmental impact on the planet, and how those technologies across Unilever impact risk is beneficial.
- Knowledge in human behaviour and work process associated with unplanned event management.
- Excellent knowledge of Unilever SHE standards. Working knowledge using all SHE IT tools and how those tools integrate into other functional work processes.
- Influencing skills and international business/cultural sensitivity
- Good observation and auditing skills
- Ability to influence strategic deliverables in a widely matrixed organization
- Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously
- Working experience with work processes in all functions in Unilever to best integrate all SHE standards and tools.
Preferred
- 5-10 years in extended Business Operations
- Prior Unilever experience
