Job Summary:
The Head of Operations will be responsible for the overall operational performance, developing and implementing strategies, ensuring efficient processes, and leading a team to achieve company objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all mining operations (planning, production, maintenance, logistics).
- Ensure compliance with regulations, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Optimize resource utilization (manpower, equipment, materials).
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Build and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Foster continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Engage with government bodies, local communities, and stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of new technologies and innovative practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelors in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field;
- 10+ years in mining operations; 5+ years in senior leadership.
- Experience at third-party contractors in mining projects is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mining processes, equipment, safety standards.
- Proven leadership in large-scale mining operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in operational planning and financial management.
- Relevant certifications in mining operations and safety are a plus
