BukuWarungs vision is to accelerate the financial success of small merchants in Indonesia through software, payments, and credit.
Head of People will work closely with the CEO/Founder and Management team to shape and drive people initiatives that align with BukuWarung's growth plan. This role is strategic and needs one to be hands-on, requiring a deep understanding of talent management, leadership development, culture-building, people operations and compliance. The ideal candidate should be passionate about building a high-performing lean company and designing people initiatives/practices that enable the business to grow resourcefully.
We are looking for a leader who can support our People Operations and People Partner (HRBP) requirements, advise on compliance and labor law regulations and oversee Talent Acquisition needs.
Since we are Indonesia-focussed and have team members in India and Singapore, our payroll and compliance requirements span across the three countries
. Candidates that have cross-border experience in these countries would be preferred.
The roles responsibility will be split across three - We are looking for candidates that are strongest on 1 and 2, as detailed below
Key Responsibilities:
- People Operations and People Partner:
- Ensure Payroll is completed timely and accurately
- Oversee People Operations function to ensure Onboarding, Probation, Performance Management, Employee Benefits and Compensation is managed and delivered as per the process established.
- Identify and lead if any process improvements are required through automation on any of the areas mentioned above.
- Lead all People function-related vendor partnerships or contract renewals for tools like HRIS, ESOP, Insurance etc.
- Provide People Partner (HRBP) Support to functional leaders on performance management or employee-related issues or challenges
- Compliance & Labor Relations:
- Ensure adherence to local labor laws and regulations in Indonesia, India, and Singapore
- Handle sensitive issues such as optimization or separations while maintaining local legal compliance
- Talent Acquisition
- Lead bulk hiring initiatives for Operations function, ensuring fast and efficient onboarding of sales executive, telesales or merchant support function.
- Oversee the Talent Acquisition function, ensure timely and quality hiring for new hires and backfills across Indonesia and India.
- Manage the vendor partnerships for outsource headcount - Existing and New Partnerships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration
- Experience in HR leadership roles, ideally in high-growth or startup environments.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations in Indonesia. India and Singapore are preferred.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Prior experience working with founders and senior leadership teams to drive org alignment
- Exposure to operate in the 0-1 or 1-10 journey of a startup
