Greeting and Seating:
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival.
Determine seating arrangement based on guest preferences and table availability.- Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and informing them of the servers name.
Reservation Management:- Handle reservations via phone, online, or in-person.
Manage the waitlist, providing accurate wait time estimates.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and wait staff to ensure seamless service.
Guest Interaction:
- Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Provide information about the menu, specials, and restaurant features.- Assist in special arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations.
Coordination and Flow:- Monitor dining room activity, table turnover, and guest wait times.
Assist in coordinating the dining room with the kitchen and bar staff to maintain efficient service.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the hostess area and front entrance.
Administrative Tasks:- Maintain the reservation book or digital system.
Process guest payments if required.
- Keep track of guest preferences and regular guests profiles.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a bar/nightclub.- Familiarity with reservation and POS (Point of Sale) systems is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
