Summary
As the Human Resources Compensation Manager, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing compensation strategies that align with our organization's objectives. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of compensation, including job architecture, market pricing, and salary administration.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive compensation philosophy that supports the company's overall strategy and objectives.
- Design and implement compensation programs and policies that attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Manage the administration of compensation programs, including promotions and adjustments.
- Support the administration of annual merit increase and bonus processes, including budgeting, communication, and implementation.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive within the industry.
- Collaborate with HR business partners and hiring managers to evaluate job descriptions and determine appropriate salary ranges based on market data and internal job evaluations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of job architecture frameworks to ensure clear career progression and consistent job leveling across the organization.
- Collaborate with the HR team to integrate compensation programs with performance management systems, ensuring alignment between pay and performance.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze and manipulate large data sets related to compensation and HR metrics.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation matters, providing guidance and support to HR colleagues, managers, and executives.
- Partner with the Finance team to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of compensation-related expenses.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation and market trends affecting compensation practices and proactively recommend adjustments as needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Masters degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation management, with a demonstrated understanding of compensation principles, practices, and methodologies.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably Workday, and experience with compensation modules or similar software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment while also functioning as a proactive member of a virtual team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, training, or other business-related events.
