Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Employee Health & team at Mercer Marsh Benefits. This role will be based in Indonesia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This will be an exceptional opportunity to lead a highly motivated, well established and professional placement team based in Jakarta. As a Placement Leader, you will use information about market practices, pricing and underwriting policies to match clients insurance needs with appropriate carrier coverage. You will coordinate with advisors and client executives to evaluate and select the best insurance carrier coverage quotes for clients. A Placement Leader makes an impact as a seasoned, ready to manage projects, work independently, help teammates thrive and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

We will count on you to:

  • Develops and executes the Mercer Marsh Benefit (MMB) placement strategy
  • Use significant risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions in EH&B area that meet client needs.
  • Implement the Placement strategy to achieve growth goals and provide exceptional client service.
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy and articulates the value of placement function and participates within pricing of services as applicable.
  • Create and maintain relationships with practice, EH&B insurance markets, clients carriers and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service.
  • Advise on changing insurance and risk management market conditions and informs client executives, client advisors, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of products/coverage.
  • Interface closely with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production.
  • Drive senior placement/technical support activities on assigned accounts, such as ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, to ensure contract execution as required.
  • Advise management about client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and participates in development of solutions.
  • Support colleagues to adhere to compliance standards and practices to ensure placement related E&Os are at an acceptable level

What you need to have:

  • More than 10 years working experience in international broking house or insurance company in a placement and/or underwriting capacity in EH&B area or in health / life insurance.
  • Ability to handle complex EH&B insurance related cases, and drive the strategy for the team.
  • Must be detailed with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Team Ethos Coaches others to present data, analytics, facts and ideas in an effective manner. Recognizes excellent performance and provides constructive feedback in a respectful action orientated manner
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
  • Obtained relevant Insurance certification.
