Job Overview
Ashurst's Projects & Energy transition practice in Jakarta are looking for a mid-level lawyer with experience in project financing and/or project development to join our growing team. Our preferred candidate will have a strong understanding of financing agreements and other project documentation, ideally gained within the energy and infrastructure sectors, coupled with excellent attention to detail in drafting related documentation.
Our Projects & Energy Transition team in Jakarta has established itself as one of the pre-eminent projects practices in Indonesia. We act for both private and public sector clients on some of the region's most iconic projects in the energy and resources, transportation and social infrastructure sectors in Indonesia and other countries across South-East Asia.
About You
- 2 to 6 years post qualification experience in one or more leading law firms in Indonesia;
- Exposure to project financing and/or project development with a focus on any of the following sectors: power and renewable energy, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure;
- Excellent proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Proficiency in any other language is a plus;
- Qualified in Indonesia. Qualification in any other jurisdiction is a plus;
- A commitment to help develop this growing practice group and supporting our clients in the structuring, financing and development of major projects, based on previous experience;
- Strong technical skills in relation to key regulatory framework and legal principles applicable to large scale projects, project agreements, project finance, legal drafting, coupled with an ability to address legal advice within a commercial context; and
- Client facing experience and the ability to understand and respond effectively to clients as well as to build and maintain client relationships.
