The Mission
Mandala Consulting is seeking a skilled and driven Lead Political Researcher to take a deep dive into Indonesian political landscape. For six months, you will become the resident expert on election trends, analysing massive datasets to uncover the pivotal patterns influencing strategy and public understanding. The analysis will be a timely input on contemporary Indonesian political situation. Your insights will not only guide our projects, but also shape policy recommendations and discussions at the highest levels.
Your Impact
- Catalyse Change: Your analysis of presidential and regional election datasets will not only inform critical decisions for clients but also contribute to a deeper understanding of the forces shaping Indonesian politics.
- Thought Leader: Present your findings to internal and external stakeholders, and author compelling insights for publication, contributing to essential public discourse.

The Role
- Data Master: Dive into presidential and regional elections datasets, identifying trends, key patterns, and the compelling narratives that influence results.
- Client-Facing Expert: Share your analyses with internal and external clients, offering regular political updates and clear, actionable insights.
- Collaborative Leader: Work as part of the dynamic Mandala team, contributing to events and other high-level initiatives.
- This position is a full-time job with office-based working in Jakarta expected.

Qualifications
- Education: PhD graduate (or soon to be graduating) from a top-tier university in political science, public policy or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3+ years of relevant professional experience as researcher in a think tank, including a proven track record of working with large datasets.
- Skillset: Strong analytical abilities, excellent writing, and engaging presentation skills. A passion for understanding the Indonesian political landscape is essential.
