Staffinc is currently looking for a Linux IT Operator which is responsible for the efficient and reliable operation of Linux-based computer systems and networks. This role involves monitoring system performance, ensuring the availability of critical applications, performing routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting issues that may arise within the Linux environment. The Linux System Operator collaborates with IT teams, system administrators, and software engineers to maintain a stable and secure computing environment.
Important Note: This role is expected to be working on-site in Jakarta, with our client in Banking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
System Monitoring:
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and network traffic to identify and address potential issues.
- Set up and maintain monitoring tools to ensure the continuous health of servers, applications, and services.
Incident Management:
- Respond promptly to system alerts, incidents, and service disruptions.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, applications, and network connectivity.
Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, such as applying patches, updates, and security fixes to ensure system stability and security.
- Coordinate with the system administration team to schedule maintenance windows and minimize downtime.
Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
- Test and validate backup and recovery processes to ensure their effectiveness.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices and configurations to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Stay updated on the latest security vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate actions.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Create and update operational documentation for fellow team members and stakeholders.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, developers, and other IT teams to resolve issues and improve system performance.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to deploy new applications and services.
Capacity Planning:
- Monitor resource utilization trends to predict future capacity requirements.
- Recommend hardware and software upgrades to ensure optimal system performance.
Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline system management processes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the Linux environment.
- Propose and implement enhancements to enhance system reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
- Have a good knowledge of Linux.
- Monitoring the application system of web-based and desktop based.
- Monitoring the traffic of the network and apps via grafana and elk.
- Monitoring performance of server apps
- Housekeeping for all systems at server include: sql database, no sql database, and logging
- Monitoring and handling problems related to the fraud detection system and periodic tasks.
- Familiar with docker, kubernetes, and ci/cd is a plus
- Able to shifting of work
- Able to work onsite in Jakarta
