Nutrition International has been working in Indonesia since 2006 as an expert ally to the government in implementing health and nutrition initiatives for vulnerable communities. Nutrition International advocates for greater attention and resources for micronutrient programming and provides funding and technical assistance to the government to design and implement nutrition programs, seeking to make them more efficient and integrated with the health system, and sustainable for long-term reach and impact. Advocacy and communications have a key role to play in achieving these efforts. This position is part of the External Relations (ER) Asia team and will work closely with the Indonesia Country Director (CD) and Director, External Relations, Asia.
About you
You will come with around 7-10 years of work experience in advocacy, public affairs, government relations, journalism, strategic communications or any other related field. With Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, International Development, International Relations, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a related field, you will have strong contacts and relationships with government in Indonesia. You should have good spoken & written English and Fluent in Bahasa language.
About the role
This position will lead on the conceptualization and execution of Nutrition Internationals external relations strategy and projects in Indonesia. Core competencies for this role include public affairs, government relations, policy advocacy, partnerships and strategic communications and outreach.
In this role you will:
Develop/implement the advocacy strategy for Nutrition International in Indonesia at national and sub-national levels, leveraging key opportunities and events.
Lead external engagement and government relations in Indonesia, attending high-level donor, partner and government meetings with the Country Director (CD). Develop/maintain positive relationships with government officials to advocate for policies that support Nutrition Internationals mandate in Indonesia.
Identify, build and nurture strategic partnerships at the national and sub-national levels with government, donors, partners, civil society and media to advance Nutrition Internationals advocacy objectives and build its profile and visibility.
Develop and implement a strategic communication and outreach strategy based on Nutrition International's advocacy targets in Indonesia. Identify and create key opportunities to profile Nutrition International externally.
