Job Description

A Medical Manager in a hospital is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of medical services

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Planning and Coordinating Medical Services: Organizing and supervising all medical activities, including patient care and medical procedures.
  2. Financial Management: Managing the hospital's budget, including planning, expenditures, and revenue. Setting service rates and coordinating financial reporting.
  3. Staff Management: Recruiting, training, and supervising medical and non-medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Compliance with Standards: Ensuring all medical procedures and services meet quality and safety standards. Monitoring compliance with health regulations.
  5. Communication and Coordination: Maintaining effective communication between departments, patients, and external parties. Attending board meetings and coordinating with department heads.
  6. Program Development: Planning and implementing new health programs and improving existing services.
  7. Data Analysis and Strategic Planning: Reviewing and analyzing operational data for strategic planning and risk management.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: Typically requires a degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's in Healthcare Administration) are often preferred.
  2. Experience: Several years of experience in healthcare management or a related field. Experience in a hospital setting is highly desirable.
  3. Skills:
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills to oversee staff and operations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff, patients, and external parties.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and management.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards.
