As the MEP QS Deputy Department Head, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate estimation, budgeting, and cost control of MEP systems throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing project costs, managing vendor and contractor relationships, and contributing to the overall financial success of the company's developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems in various projects, considering pre-contract and post-contract stages.
- Conduct comprehensive tendering processes for MEP vendors and contractors, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and control MEP project costs, tracking expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MEP industry trends, pricing, and technologies.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize project budgets.
- Prepare and review MEP-related documentation, including bills of quantities, cost reports, and variation orders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management, with a strong focus on MEP systems.
- Proven experience in pre-contract and post-contract cost management processes.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
