Objective:
To manage a palm oil mill in Indonesia, ensuring efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and cost control in alignment with company standards and Indonesian requirements. This role seeks a Malaysian candidate who can leverage their experience in a cross-cultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mill Operations Management
- Daily Operations: Oversee all mill activities to achieve production targets, focusing on key metrics such as Oil Extraction Rate (OER), Kernel Extraction Rate (KER), and oil loss minimization.
- Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and execute regular maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with all Indonesian regulations, including ISPO standards.
- Quality Control: Oversee Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) grading and processing to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
2. Budget and Cost Management
- Cost Efficiency: Monitor and control mill expenditures within approved budgets, optimizing resource use and minimizing losses.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Inventory Management: Ensure proper inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, avoiding overstock or shortages.
3. Compliance and Reporting
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure mill operations comply with Indonesian environmental and operational standards (ISPO certification, Environmental Impact Assessments) and company policies.
- Sustainability Certification Support: Maintain RSPO/ESPO certifications by adhering to sustainable practices as required by company and Indonesian authorities.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on mill performance, safety standards, and regulatory compliance to the Mill Controller and stakeholders.
4. Workforce Leadership and Development
- Team Supervision: Lead and manage the local workforce, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Training and Development: Organize training sessions to elevate team members technical skills and promote best practices.
- Performance Monitoring: Set and review KPIs for team members, addressing any operational challenges promptly.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in palm oil mill operations, with a preference for experience in multi-cultural environments.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; adaptable to the operational landscape in Indonesia.
- Preferred Candidate: Non Indonesian nationals must be able to work in Indonesia.
