ABOUT USAID HEPI PROJECT:
Through a USAID/Indonesia partnership with implementing partner Arizona State University (ASU), the Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) is a 5-year project aimed to strengthen sustainable partnerships between U.S. and Indonesia universities and industry. Funded through 2027, HEPI has developed a dynamic consortium of U.S. and Indonesian university, government, and industry partners working to strengthen science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs in Indonesia. The project fosters industry linked curricula alignment to provide work-ready STEM graduates, increasing quality of STEM program in Indonesia to meet international accreditation standards through collaborations with U.S. HEIs, and fostering innovative partnerships between U.S. and Indonesia HEIs to increase student pathways to study in the U.S. in both degree and short-term programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the MEL framework of ASU's Higher Education initiative in Indonesia, USAID Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI). The specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring data-driven decision-making, capturing lessons learned, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. A key aspect of the role includes ensuring the program objectives are effectively tracked, measured, and reported, working closely with project teams, partners, and stakeholders to collect, analyze, and report data, as well as to facilitate learning across the project's activities.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will collaborate with the project leadership team in research design and planning, and will execute data collection, data summarization and reporting for both qualitative and quantitative data. Duties will include conducting literature reviews and research; acquisition and examination of documents; conducting field observation and focus groups; and providing local implementation and oversight for data collection and monitoring functions.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will report to Program Manager for Operations in Jakarta, Indonesia.The program is expected to conclude in 2027 and is based in Jakarta Indonesia.The position will be contingent upon sponsor approval and funding.
SCHEDULE OF WORK: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 4:00PM
PLACE OF WORK: This position is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with the expectation of working from the office a majority of the work week.The office of Arizona State University is in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist is expected to travel within Indonesia and abroad on occasion to meetings as may be required and/or as instructed by the Country Director.
