PT SBN is now looking for the position of Server and Network Virtualization Engineer.
The position requires the talent to possess and will be work as follows :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop: Designing and developing system and network architecture for the VM and hardware so will easily align with the goals to create unified virtualization.
- Deployment and configuration: Deploy application or firmware or image on a VM within designated hardware. Configure network and server settings for optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Testing and feasibility checks: Conduct thorough testing of the virtualized environment, identifying any limitations, bottlenecks, or compatibility issues. Analyze the feasibility of our high-end box model.
- Problem-solving and optimization: Troubleshoot any issues encountered during testing and suggest solutions for improvement. Work with the team and developers to optimize the virtualized platform for performance and stability.
- Documentation and reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports outlining your findings, recommendations, and potential roadblocks, including necessary updates to application for seamless virtualization.
- Knowledge sharing and collaboration: Collaborate with the team, developers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure successful virtualization of the solution. Share your expertise and contribute to the development of best practices for virtualized infrastructure management.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Information Technology or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. With a strong focus on development rather than pure operations.
- Delivery of quality results within aggressive timelines
- Experience with full stack development or strong backend development experience, enabling you to work across the stack when needed.
- Understanding dev ops cycle or cloud managed services
- Understanding of software architecture, enabling you to design virtualized environments that support complex applications and services.
- Experience in automation and scripting, not just for deployment but for developing tools and utilities that enhance the virtualized environment's capabilities.
Required Skills
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal proficiency in English
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar, used in both developing applications and managing virtualized environments.
- Experience with virtualization APIs and SDKs, enabling integration and customization of virtualization solutions with in-house developed applications.
- Having knowledge on VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, Hyper-V or other virtualization technology
- Having knowledge on Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technology
- Having knowledge on operating system Windows/Ubuntu/LINUX/UNIX-like
- Network configurations and configuration files of the OS.
- Extensive understanding of networking principles and configurations.
- Strong hands-on experience with server hardware and software installation and configuration.
- Experience with deploying and managing virtualized environments in production settings.
