Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nursing Lecturer to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to nursing students, designing curriculum, and providing guidance and mentorship. The role requires an individual with a strong nursing background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and professional development.
Lecturing and Curriculum Delivery: Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in nursing and related subjects.
- Develop and update course materials, including lecture notes, assignments, and exams.
Ensure teaching methods align with the latest nursing practices and standards.Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty members to design and revise nursing curricula in accordance with accreditation standards.
- Stay up to date with advancements in nursing education and integrate new concepts into the curriculum.
Assessment and Evaluation: Design, administer, and grade assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance.
Ensure that assessments meet the required academic standards and learning outcomes.Student Support and Mentorship: Offer academic advising and support to nursing students.
Supervise and mentor students in clinical placements and research projects.
- Provide guidance on professional development and career planning in nursing.
Research and Scholarship: Engage in research activities and contribute to scholarly publications.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain expertise in nursing practice and education.
Collaborate with colleagues on research initiatives and grant applications.
- Liaise with clinical partners to arrange and oversee student placements in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
Ensure that students gain hands-on experience in a variety of nursing settings.- Assess student performance during clinical placements and provide feedback to improve clinical skills.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the administrative functions of the nursing program.
- Attend faculty meetings, committee meetings, and training sessions as required.
Represent the institution at professional conferences and community events. Professional and Administrative Duties:
- Qualifications and Experience:
Educational Requirements: Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing or a closely related field.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure.
Specialization in Specific Area of Post Basic in Public Health/ Critical Care/ Perioperative, Midwifery / Pediatric/ Oncology/ Renal/ /Gerontology / Emergency and Trauma/ Community Health)Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
Teaching experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
- Experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes is an asset.
Skills and Competencies: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.- Proficiency in modern teaching methods, including online and hybrid learning platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
