Job Role / Job Overview
PCBA Design Engineer (PCBA, analog/digital circuit design). You will report to Engineering Manager.
Key Accountabilities
- Design electronic components, software, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, medical, military, or scientific applications.
- Analyse customer needs and determine electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan.
- Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
- Keep up with industry and familiar with new standard coming up and provide recommendation to upgrade existing equipment/procedure to meet project needs.
- Develop concepts and designs for the next generation system and sustaining engineering
- Design datapath architecture
- Representing electrical engineer in other sub-system architecture and design reviews
- Define interfaces with other critical sub-systems
- Work with other engineering groups such as Mechanical, Optical, Software, Systems and Manufacturing engineers to ensure detailed integration and test at the subsystem and system levels
- Assist in supporting the daily Engineering Operation
Job Specific Technical Requirements
- Solve challenging engineering problems by characterizing components, designing or prototyping analog front-end circuits, selecting components, generating schematics, directing PCB layout, and debugging PCBAs in the labs
- Utilize CAD System to prepare printed circuit board (PCB) documentation (e.g., schematic diagrams, Gerber files, layouts, assembly drawings and Bills of Material).
Industry experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in product development in an engineering/electronics/high-tech environment.
Job Specific Personal Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or system engineering
Job experience with proficiency in these areas:
- a. Mixed signal board design
- b. OrCADCad tools and electronic simulation tools.
- c. Analog and Power design, ADCs, DACs, DCDC, OP Amplifiers and sensors.
- d. Full cycle of PCB design from Schematics through Layout to Manufacturing.
- e. Electronic fundamentals (Signal integrity, Power integrity, EMIEMC etc.)
- f. Low noise linear analog circuitry, characteristics of analog components,
- g. CCD/TDI sensors and image acquisition
Understand capabilities and coding techniques of advanced FPGA devices
Proficient with the use of electronics laboratory equipment, bring up and troubleshoot PCBAs
Self-driven, independent and possess excellent oral and written communication skills to successfully collaborate with our accomplished engineering team
Languages
- Fluency in English is essential.
