The Production Flavorist will be integral to our flavor production operations, working collaboratively with the Production Manager to uphold precise flavor mixing and stringent quality standards. This role encompasses oversight of flavor mixing process, quality assurance checks, scaling production processes, and raw material verification. Additionally, the Production Flavorist will develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper storage and handling of materials. This position is crucial in maintaining the quality, consistency, and safety of our flavor products, contributing directly to our commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with the Production Manager and R&D teams to transition flavors from lab-scale to production-scale, ensuring that flavor profiles are maintained during scale-up.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to support daily flavor production activities and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Assist in managing production schedules and resources to meet demand while adhering to quality standards.
- Execute flavor mixing and formulation based on approved recipes to maintain consistency and meet specified flavor profiles.
- Inspect raw materials upon receipt to ensure they meet required specifications and safety standards.
- Develop, document, and update SOPs for flavor mixing, handling, and storage to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Ensure all storage conditions meet quality standards for raw materials and finished products, contributing to product stability and longevity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent flavor quality.
- To conduct sensory feedback on flavors after mixing completion on site
- Other related duties as assigned by management team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's/Undergraduate degree/Diploma in food science, food engineering, chemistry, food science or biology and/or 3 years relevant working experience in flavour area in any industry such as consumer product development, flavour technologies, flavour application and project management etc.
- Knowledge of flavor mixing, production scale up, and flavour quality assurance practices.
- Experience in sensory evaluation of flavour raw materials.
- > 2 years of experience in flavor production.
- Knowledge of flavor categories, raw materials, chemical processes, and experience in sensory research.
- Highly responsible, reliable, and attentive to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality in all work-related matters.
- Creative and scientifically skilled, with a refined and discerning palate.
