Basic Function
The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the production plant and overall operations, ensuring safe working environment with cost-effective, and safe production processes. This role includes managing of staff, monitoring and controlling manufacturing activities, and maintaining quality standards to meet sales requirements and deadlines.
Responsibilities
Team Management:
Supervise and manage production staff, including packers and forklift drivers.
Assign tasks and monitor the performance of workers.
Ensure team adherence to company policies and procedures.
Provide training and development to production staff.
Ensure all plant machine operators and workers working hours are within allowable range and plan operations accordingly.
Production Planning and Operations:
Assist the production manager/executive in the overall operation of the plants production and processes.
Operate, monitor, control, and conduct site routine inspection for the manufacturing process of production products.
Ensure production meets and achieves sales requirements for various types of products.
Monitor and record each plant machine's running parameters and production output.
Conduct product sampling tests to ensure products are within specifications.
Supervise and plan loading activity, keep records, and generate daily loading reports.
Supervise goods receiving and storage, update stock reports, and generate daily stock reports.
Reorder and restock consumables and stock items based on agreeable stock volume.
Address and resolve production-related issues and challenges.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of problems.
Conduct daily, weekly, or monthly stock counts to ensure sufficient consumable and stock items for continuous production activity.
Process Knowledge and Control:
Demonstrate high competency in the entire production manufacturing processes, including feeding, milling, classifying, finished products packing and storage, process control interlocking, process equipment limitations, and alarms.
Ensure plant operation according to regulatory practices, emphasizing safety operations, cost efficiency, high production throughput, and minimal plant downtime.
Assist in the root cause analysis of product nonconformance and manage segregation and disposition through reworks.
Maintenance Management:
Carry out daily equipment inspection, including visual inspection of motors and mobile equipment, checking stearic acid consumption, motor oil levels, and rectifying plant operation alarms.
Perform minor repairs on plant equipment and instrumentation to maintain operability when maintenance personnel is unavailable.
Assist maintenance personnel in performing necessary maintenance activities.
Ensure all maintenance-related matters are updated in the SAP system.
Plan and preform corrective and preventive maintenance works.
Quality Control:
Monitoring the quality performance tests on products, review and monitor the test result to ensure the product within require specifications.
Ensure products are produced within the product specifications.
Address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
Health and Safety:
Enforce safety regulations and protocols in the production area.
Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Investigate and report any accidents or incidents.
Maintain a clean, safe, and clutter-free work environment.
Know the significant quality, safety & health, and environmental aspects/impacts associated with work.
By adhering the Corporate Sustainability Policy and the Integrated Management System (IMS 9001:2018) to continuously improve QSHE aspects.
Reporting:
Maintain an accurate production records and documentation.
Prepare and submit production reports to management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company documentation requirements.
Perform daily, weekly, or monthly SAP updates as required by management.
Manage inventory of raw materials and production supplies.
Ensure the availability of necessary resources for production.
Coordinate with procurement for timely supply of materials.
Monitor and record the finished goods level available in the warehouse.
Communication:
Liaise with other departments such as CSM, quality control, and maintenance.
Communicate production status and updates to management.
Foster a good collaborative work environment among team members.
Qualifications
High school/diploma or equivalent academic qualification
2 years of industrial / manufacturing experience in a chemical or related field.
Experience in a maintenance role for a manufacturing or related operation.
Computer skills and laboratory experience are preferred.
Basic chemistry knowledge preferred.
Ability to communicate efficiently verbally and in writing with coworkers, supervisors and customers.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends, including operating facility alone on nights and weekends.
Ability to work inside and occasionally outside exposed to heat, cold, dirt, and noise.
Possess basic skill in checking and competence in operation of forklift
Knowledgeable and experience in basic plant maintenance, inspection and routine operation checking from aspect of process, equipment, instrumentation and control
Good command of both oral and written local language is required.
