Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to oversee and manage our Illipe nut sourcing project. The goal of this project is: finding new sourcing areas, adding new farmers and communities to our supplier portfolio to ultimately scale up our harvest operations before the start of the new harvest. This role requires a strategic and organised individual capable of handling big data management, activity planning, leading field teams, and ensuring effective collaboration with local farmers. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining project timelines and ensuring the smooth execution of all project phases from data management to harvest collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management: Oversee and manage existing big data related to Illipe nut collection. Ensure data is well-organised, accessible, and utilised effectively for planning and decision-making.
- Activity Planning: Develop a comprehensive step-by-step action plan for the project, covering all activities from initial preparation to organic certification through to harvest.
- Field Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate field teams for data management and field visits, ensuring accuracy in data collection and cross-checking processes.
- Timeline Management: Create and maintain project timelines, ensuring that each activity is completed on schedule and within project goals.
- Farmer Engagement: Manage relationships with local farmers, overseeing the process from initial mapping to organic certification to the receipt of harvested nuts.
- Field Visits: Conduct and oversee field visits as needed to verify progress and maintain project standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with local staff, management, and the board to facilitate smooth project implementation. Able to communicate clearly both verbally and written, both English and Indonesia.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes. Doing a weekly report, meeting, and updates to the CEO.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in agricultural or forestry projects.
- Pro active attitude and strong sense of res to meet the goals and objectives of the project
- Strong data management skills and ability to oversee complex datasets.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Docs, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Surveys, and Google Slides.
- Proficiency in using CRM such as Trello, Asana, Google Workspace, etc
- Excellent leadership capabilities and ability to guide field teams.
- Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both Indonesian and English, both written and verbal.
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly to new environments and project needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with local staff, management, and the board.
- Willingness to reside in Sintang, Indonesia, for the full 6-month duration of the project.
