Purchasing Chief (Senior/Assistant Manager)

The Purchasing Chief will oversee the procurement activities related to indirect materials and services, ensuring that the company obtains quality products and services at the best possible prices. This role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, negotiation, and coordination with various departments to meet the organization's indirect procurement needs.

• Job Responsibilities:

- Research and identify suppliers for machinery parts, equipment, and related services based on company requirements.
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, and other factors to make informed procurement decisions.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions.
- Generate and issue purchase orders for machinery-related non-material goods and services in accordance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, resolve issues, and optimize procurement processes.
- Monitor and control procurement costs related to machinery parts and services to achieve cost-effectiveness and budget compliance.
- Prepare and maintain procurement-related reports, including supplier performance, cost analysis, and procurement metrics.

• Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in business studies/administration/management, purchasing or equivalent.
- Preferably at least more than 5 years of working experience in related field.
- Candidates with machinery procurement experience from any manufacturing sector are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with machinery parts, equipment, and related services procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Language: English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (verbal and written) will be an advantage and required to work with the China Team.
- Willing to travel to China for 3-6 months of training.
