Educations and Experience:- Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, or a related subject
At least 5 years of work experience in a similar role in large M&E or Construction Contracts- Experienced in the tender and target cost process and the review of such documents
Solid knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical component parts of a project and overall construction costs
- Possess knowledge in CAD(AutoCAD), REVIT for measurements/BQ take-off
Proficient in MS Office, specifically in MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
Understand project specifications, customer requirements, and local construction regulations- Assists in the preparation of cost plans and estimates, price or forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project. Cost planning including interim valuation, project cash flow forecasting, taxation appraisal and negotiation of final accounts.
Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
- Review quotations from vendors in relation to cost, rates offered and on compliance to contractual requirements. Evaluate price comparison and costing summaries.
Assist in the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers of specified materials- Manage key vendor relationships to ensure best value and service
Provide budgetary and procurement advice including supporting the project teams in formulating and implementing robust procurement strategies
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects and liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
Undertakes procurement of projects from start to finish including preparation of tender documentation, procurement activities and contract formation- Acting in the role of contract administrator
Attend technical meetings to keep abreast of design development issues and provide cost escalation alerts, if necessary
- Conduct claims, identify variation orders, submit accurate cost implications and spreadsheets, if necessary
Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly, if necessary- Managing work packages post-contract including change control and valuation, progress valuations, cost reports and final accounts
Site inspection and/or measurement where necessary to support accurate budget costing and post measure
- Conducting tender analysis for the purpose of contractor appointments and data capture for benchmarking and future cost plans
Maintaining accurate data systems and financial management including benchmarking data for reference in any cost estimates
