Operate subsea drilling equipment - to high levels of safety and efficiency and in accordance with published standards.
Knowledge of wireline drilling systems and bespoke tools.
Operate subsea equipment on deck for purpose of troubleshooting, maintenance, and deck checks.
Ensure all equipment used is working and is fit for purpose; this equipment includes bespoke subsea bottom hole assemblies, drilling pipe, and samplers.
Assist with turnaround of sampling equipment during on-deck periods
Liaise with offshore geotechnical personnel regarding sample recovery and quantity, as well as borehole prognosis.
Direct mud program and instruct assistant driller and crew in use of mud mixing and pumping equipment, and mud mixing procedures
Effectively communicate between lab, subsea drill team, and offshore manager regarding drilling conditions.
Instruct assistant driller proper tool handling and assembly, equipment testing, and mud mixing
Recognize and adhere to the company's QHSE policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
Geotechnical Drilling experience is a must.
Extensive work experience with Offshore / Land Wireline Drilling systems.
