Executing the global category strategy regionally by selecting and contracting the suppliers required to support the Frencken business in the region within boundaries as defined within the global category strategy.
Conducting market research, analysing market trends and provide insights to global commodity management team for better strategy alignment.
Assurance that suppliers that are part of the global category strategy and used within the region of the category buyer are covered by the necessary agreements (e.g. NDA, LA, SA, etc.)
Performing periodical performance reviews with the suppliers that are part of the global category strategy to assure operational excellence.
Responsible to assure that all relevant conditions (e.g. price, lead-time, payment conditions, etc.) are agreed with the respective suppliers and maintained timely in the ERP system used in the region.
Lead supplier selection and RFX activities within the region and respective category.
Generating cost reduction ideas that will allow further reduction of the cost of goods supplied to the Frencken site in the region.
Act as the point of escalation for the operational buying team within its respective category issues & region.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain process, such as implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and adopting new technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a similar field.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in category management within procurement.
Knowledge of precision machining, mechatronic assemblies, raw material and surface treatment.
Knowledge of cost modelling of processes used in markets.
Experience with MRP systems and project planning (MS-Project).
Extensive knowledge of MS office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Able to interpret and understand technical drawings is added advantage.
Demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills.
