We are looking for a professional Sous Chef to be the second in command in our kitchen, following our Executive Chefs specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ its culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
Knowledge of all recipes and preparations in the restaurant, able to take care of any station when is needed
Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
Ensure kitchen maintenance and or report any anomalies or issue that has to be fixed
Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staffs performance
Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards following the HACCP and safety policies
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers developing and maintaining a great and fair work environment
Act as Head Chef when directed or in the absence of the Executive Chef
Knowledge on how to prepare financial reports and able to execute in the absence of the Executive Chef
Follow any order given by the Executive Chef and make sure is completed on the date line given
Requirements and skills
5+ years of experience as a Chef with a minimum of 2+ as Sous Chef in High end restaurant or 5Hotel
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
Familiar with industrys best practices
Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plus
Solid Culinary background and at least over a year in each company
Proficient in English and Bahasa both written and spoken2 references check required
