Job Description

Job Purpose

The Strategy Manager will play a pivotal role in guiding our company's growth by leading market research efforts, piloting a new product, or spearheading the expansion of our business into new countries within South East Asia. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategy and Investment, this role is crucial to the strategic direction and expansion of the company.

What will you do

1. Conduct comprehensive market research to identify opportunities and threats in existing and potential new markets, including understanding merchant pain points, competitive landscape and regulatory requirements

2. Lead the strategic planning and launching/ execution of market entry into new countries or businesses, including market assessment, budget, entry strategies, risk analysis, and roll-out strategy

3. Act as a country launcher by setting up a new entity (if required), executing market entry through regulatory filing, identifying clients or partners, and managing the relationship with in-country stakeholders

4. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing & PR, and Finance to ensure a seamless market launch, addressing legal, regulatory, marketing, and operational requirements

5. Review, analyse, and finalise relevant legal documents with the Legal and Compliance Team for all submissions to regulators, partners, and clients in the new country

6. Provide support for ongoing strategy work, board presentations or management/ leadership meetings

What we are looking

General Requirement

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or any related field

2. Hard worker with at least 4 years of work experience in market research, strategy development, and investment analysis, preferably within the tech industry. Experience in management consulting is a plus

3. Must have experience in expanding business into new countries or establishing new business lines in existing countries

4. Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools

5. Experience in the payment or fintech business is a pl

6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely

7. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically

8. Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team

9. International business and/or market/business expansion experience is a must

10. Able to speak English fluently - as a business language in other SEA countries
