Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:
- Develop and implement technical and operational policies and procedures for the fleet.
- Monitor ship performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, including safety, environmental, and labor standards.
- Coordinate drydockings and major repairs.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to ship captains and engineers.
- Resolve technical issues and emergencies.
- Coordinate spare parts procurement and inventory management.
Maintenance Planning:
- Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules.
- Ensure that ships are maintained in a safe and seaworthy condition.
- Monitor and manage maintenance costs.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with flag state and port state control requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify and address compliance issues.
Project Management:
- Manage technical projects, such as ship upgrades and modifications.
- Coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess technical and operational risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or a related field.
- Master's degree in maritime management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum [number] years of experience in ship management or maritime engineering.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW.
- Experience with ship maintenance and repair procedures.
