JR61340 Technical Writer
As a Finished Goods Technical Writer, you will provide documentation and infrastructure support to global locations. The team provides technical writing support for sites in the US, India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan. This is an on-site position in the Batu Kawan Industrial Park.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Handle Documentation at a companywide level
- Analyze audience, purpose, and documentation needs
- Interview SMEs to acquire needed information to write documentation
- Select the appropriate documentation method to meet the need of the users
- Collaborate with other sites and groups for document consistency
- Handle graphics, images, and videos for documentation
- Work with process control to resolve globalization of change requests
- Coordinate language translation services and prepare documents in multiple languages
- Establish and maintain approval routes and notifications for controlled documentation
- Store and maintain documents in a content management system
- Modify and format documents that other team members create
- Handle the periodic document review process
- Implement and enforce to the standards of ISO/TS/IATF
- Assist in audits
Handle Web Sites on a Global level
- Evaluate and apply web design techniques
- Create, design, develop, and maintain SharePoint and HTML sites
- Create and modify graphics and images for use in web pages
- Collaborate and align on usability for sites
- Test and troubleshoot sites
- Maintain site access permissions
Measure and Improve Documentation Efficiency
- Develop evaluation tools/methods and measure efficiency of documentation
- Develop usability testing for documentation and web sites
- Conduct usability testing, reports findings, and follow up by implementing changes indicated by the findings
- Communicate with users to determine if documents are meeting their needs
Provide information and instructions
- Train or mentor team members on technical writing standards, web requirements, and use of documentation tools
- Edit and proofread documents for others including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and organization of content, such as adding headings and bulleted lists
- Assist in the development of departmental newsletters
- Troubleshoot and mentor the team on software programs
- Train the team on using documentation control systems
- Create and maintain LMS Program profiles, learning events, and transcripts
- Teach the Leadership Orientation with a Technical Writer class as required for new members of leadership
Participate in Projects
- Work closely with Project Managers, business process analysts, Workforce Development, Organizational Change, and SMEs to settle documentation needs
- Interview SMEs for content
- Determine the best ways to meet documentation needs
- Measure documentation efficiency
- Build project based web sites

Job Requirement
- At least a bachelor's in communication, English, technical communication or a related field of study.
- A high degree of initiative, organization, dependability, and attention to detail.
- The ability to be self-directed and work with independently.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of English grammar and language.
- Able to accept constructive feedback.
- Strong PC skills and skilled in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities outside the job description based on business needs.
