Senior WordPress Developer
Location: Remote or Relocate to Bali with a Relocation Bonus
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team at Palm Code. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or relocate to the beautiful island of Bali with a relocation bonus.
Requirements:
Must-Have:
- Extensive experience in developing custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and familiarity with WordPress coding standards.
- Experience in managing and optimizing WordPress installations on hosting platforms, including handling server configurations.
- Proficiency in GitHub for version control.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Should-Have:
- Experience building and maintaining scalable and high-performance websites.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and ability to integrate third-party services into WordPress.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following WordPress best practices.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind) and page builders (e.g., Elementor).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for WordPress deployments.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with WooCommerce and other popular WordPress plugins.
- Knowledge of security best practices for WordPress, including data protection and performance optimization.
- Experience with multi-language websites and internationalization.
- Familiarity with cloud service orchestration and containerization technologies like Docker.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality websites and user experiences.
- Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of WordPress websites.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues in both development and production environments.
- Write clean, well-documented code adhering to WordPress standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in WordPress development.
- Conduct code reviews and participate in testing to ensure code quality and functionality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading projects or mentoring junior developers.
- Contributions to open-source WordPress projects or a portfolio showcasing previous work.
